Happy Belated Thanksgiving! Hope everyone’s day was festive and yummy! Mike and I don’t have an oven or a microwave for that matter so we had to get pretty creative on what we served up for this years feast. Since Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday I brought a few key ingredients from The States…yup that’s right in my undoubtedly overweight suitcase I packed the good ol fashion necessities.
You can actually find potatoes here…so on that one we were just being lazy…but the rest of the items were a must.
First order of business: Find ourselves a roast chicken
We heard about a Brazilian shop that did roast chickens and sure enough the word on the street was correct!
Literally for 1650 yen ($16) you can get this ready to eat roast chicken!
We were pretty excited about our success…hence the grins on our faces.
Once home, Mike got busy in the kitchen making homemade stuffing. I have to admit even though he didn’t follow a recipe the stuffing came out great!
So what exactly was on our Thanksgiving menu this year:
*Homemade Stuffing/Broccoli Casserole
*Instant Mashed Potatoes with Instant Gravy
We’ve obviously didn’t forget Dessert! I found 2 great no bake recipes:
Overall it was fun and relaxing day. Our dinner might not have been gluten or dairy free but it was definitely oven free!
